Oxford does the work so we don't have to, and with scrupulous research they've compiled a list of the top ten most irritating phrases in English. It always pays to be forewarned in what will annoy you, so without further ado--

The top ten most irritating phrases:

6 - Absolutely

7 - It's a nightmare

8 - Shouldn't of

9 - 24/7

10 - It's not rocket science

I personally must say, though, at the end of the day it's a nightmare to think scholars worked 24/7 on this, and they absolutely shouldn't of spent so much time on this at this moment in time. The results are certainly fairly unique, but with all due respect, it's not rocket science.
