You've only just recovered from the 19th's puns and witticisms, and careening in comes this concoction. Forwarded by a friend, these terms have been drifting around the internet as words in which one letter has been added, subtracted or changed, triggering a bright new meaning:
- Intaxication: Euphoria at getting a tax refund, which lasts until you realize it was your money to start with.
- Reintarnation: Coming back to life as a hillbilly.
- Bozone: The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer unfortunately shows little sign of breaking down in the near future.
- Giraffiti: Vandalism spray-painted very, very high.
- Inoculatte: To take coffee intravenously when you are running late.
- Karmageddon: It's like, when everybody is sending off all these really bad vibes, right? And then, like, the Earth explodes and it's like, a serious bummer.
- Decafalon: The grueling event of getting through the day consuming only things that are good for you.
- Dopeler Effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.
- Arachnoleptic Fit: The frantic dance performed just after you've accidentally walked through a spider web.
- Beelzebug: Satan in the form of a mosquito that gets into your bedroom at three in the morning and cannot be cast out.

Well this may be an odd post on which to finally say this, but! it is the post that most reminds me of your sermons.
I attended Our Lady of Mercy for three years while you were serving there, never introduced myself, but was sincerely moved by you, Father Michael, and the congregation. I was a student at Simpson University, and all the while falling in love with the Catholic Church. Last Easter, I was finally confirmed, and I've always wanted to let you know how much more I've known Jesus from your sermons... and your humor.
So, blessings on your journeys.

Rebecca! Congratulations on your confirmation! That's very exciting! It's great to get your note--
Though I'm not sure about the legacy: "What was most inspirational about Father Avram's homilies?" "The unrelenting puns."
Most people hope the homily would would just end at that point . . .
