Kid You Not

Last Thursday our expeditions took us to the beautiful region of Ein Gedi, about an hour or so southeast of Jerusalem (as usual, I fell asleep on the drive down, so couldn’t give you an accurate chronology).

This beautiful oasis was known for the cultivation of balsam, while the Song of Songs refers to its vineyards.  Ezekiel speaks of it as a site of fishing, while Sirach raises the bar and says that Wisdom is ‘like a palm tree in En-Gedi’ (24: 14).
