Well, one major goal accomplished. Since arrival one primary objective has been to identify and locate Rome's finest gelaterias. Last night was a major step forward with four of us enjoying some of the best ice cream ever at the Frigidarium. Cinnamon ice cream, chocolate with orange liquor, and custard--topped with whipped cream.

Brat, total brat! You're killing me!
The English translation of the name of the shop would be the Cold Plunge. The ancient Roman baths had three pools, the calidarium, the tepidarium and the frigidarium. Adventuresome souls would soak in the calidarium, and then jump into the frigidarium for a nice wakeup.
Speakers of colloquial American English can get a sense of what the frigidarium felt like, by pronouncing the "g" hard as the ancient Romans did. Statistics are not available, but I would guess that ancient Romans died at the baths as commonly as at home in bed.
With all the gelato, where is it that you are working out?
Ipso facto, clear creek, does that infer that the Romans were frigidarium in the bedroom?
Sorry, have more gelato.
