Visit the Pilgrim to see photos of the large fire near my home in Northern California. Luckily, the fire has burnt a trail between itself and us that it would have to leap over to get back to our area, so we're looking pretty safe. We left Clear Creek the day before. The sky was blue and beautiful. The next morning I awoke in Rescue, to find grey, smokey skies lumbering over Sacramento, later to find out we just missed the fire!
I can't say I quite appreciate the pun.... Thankfully only one home has been destroyed.
