The dies natalis the Pope referred to in his letter last Tuesday announcing the year of priests, is August 4, which will be the 150th anniversary the day Saint John Vianney died in 1859. The Latin phrase "day of birth" refers to his birth into eternal life. His "birth on earth" was May 8, 1786.
