We Saw Warsaw

Just before Thanksgiving Father Derek and myself had time to squeeze in a trip to Poland and Latvia: we were tracking down his family’s farm and visiting a classmate from seminary.

Flying into Warsaw midday you quickly discovered that up north the sun sets promptly.

Warsaw was heavily damaged in World War II, and then had a little jaunt of about 45 years of Soviet occupation, so it’s impressive to see how restored the city center is.

Where they had perpetual adoration. You can’t see from this angle, but all the pews were full on a weekday afternoon.
