On our walk back from Saint Paul's we came by this sight on the Roman Forum:














There's the steeple, where's the church?


Out in the street adjacent to a (steeple-less) church workers were mantling (as opposed to dismantling?) a steeple prior to lifting it up on the building itself.














This angle might give a better view.



So the secret is out--wooden core's inside the fancy adornment . . .
