Universita Gregoriana

So today was the first day of classes. I dutifully tucked my binder under my arm with my pen on the ready and made the trek over to my campus (all of about 27 seconds, crossing the Piazza, basically).

I was on my way to my class in Greek--well, in Italian regarding the content of Greek.

This was the hall greeting the new student:

The two students below give a sense of scale.

The classrooms as well had lofty ceilings, and desks that seemed to be from the set for a film depicting the late Middle Ages.

Where do I plug in my laptop?

As it turned out, while it was the first day of classes, the afternoon sessions were canceled, so I was able to have an enjoyable discussion with several Polish classmates (in Italian) before heading off to buy more school supplies.

It is a grand hall. I saw pictures of it on the school web site, in the photos of the pope's visit.

I think the movie set is for the mid-nineteenth century. Maybe your laptop goes on your lap.

So, what you're saying is that it's a quaint setting? ; )

Having trouble picturing you with a binder under your arm & pen in hand -- I'm used to seeing you with your cell phone/palm pilot in your hand AND my cell phone/palm pilot calling someone -- all the while trying to figure out "where & with whom" the 7 pm dinner is sheduled! {BIG GRIN}

Hopefully the binder & pen are causing your pace to be a little slower than I'm used to seeing?? (yep, that's the self-appointed mother in me coming out AGAIN)
