Excerpts From The Peet's Coffee Interview

Flash Report interviewed California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman of the Republican Party last October.  Released in three parts, in this segment Whitman speaks of her support for taxpayer funded abortion.  While polling shows Americans oppose taxpayer funding of abortion in significant majorities (61-71%), California is one of 13 states whose courts decided that the state constitution mandated state funded abortions.  (Hawaii, Maryland, New York and Washington are the only four states deciding voluntarily to do so.)  For California, in 2007 alone Medi-Cal covered 80,000 abortions, at a total cost of $35 million.
