Santa Balbina

Mass with the MC sisters this morning!  So I missed today’s Station Church up on the Aventine Hill, where legend has it that Constantine said goodbye to Pope Sylvester when the emperor moved the capital from Rome to Constantinople.  Santa Balbina’s also has a lot of that really cool tile pattern (cosmatesque) that you find in some of the older Roman churches, as seen in my previous photo of the bishop’s chair.
