Also known as the highest paved road in North America.
My brother and I were able to fit this into our cross country drive as we came through the Rockies.
We started riding up from Echo Lake at about 10,500 feet in altitude.
Our smiles attempt to mask the challenge.
We had 14 miles, and over 4,000 feet of vertical to arrive at the end of the Mount Evans road--all over 10,000 feet.
'Yes, we just got hailed (and rained) on!'
Luckily, as we got closer to the summit, the weather started to clear (which was the opposite of normal weather patterns).

It was a grueling climb since the entire thing was above 10,000 feet. Quite a few of the stretches became pretty steep, though almost the entire thing was uphill, as we had 4,000 feet to climb. While the ascent took about 2 and a half hours, the descent took about 30 minutes!
