Yesterday I went to Siena for the day and as I walked to the cathedral from the bus station I saw one of our Sacramento seminarians, Aaron, who will be studying in Rome. I had no idea he was in Siena! He's been studying Italian there for the month, and heads back to Rome in a few days. We enjoyed lunch together (mushroom ravioli and roasted duck)--and he knew the best gelateria in town! They even had Rose flavored gelato--amazing!
Having a tour guide certainly helped to see the rest of the churches as well--including the one with the relics of Saint Catherine. The cathedral there is amazing, and they also have a Eucharistic Miracle at the church of St. Francis.

IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL! I have to laugh cuz everywhere you go you run into someone you know from the US!
It's true--I must have some Celestial Tour Guide working on my travel plans . . .
I think you are talking about Aaron Rose. Tell him I said Hi. <>< Andrea
