Funny running into you here . . .

Siena seems to be a fortuitous place! I went there again on Saturday and spent some time on the Plaza before going to the Duomo to spend more time inside since it is incredibly elaborate, and as I was in front of the gorgeous facade a friend from Florence came by with a group of about six! It was tons of fun to go through the cathedral together and attempt to interpret and decipher the elaborate marble floors. Siena's cathedral is the only one I know of with such elaborate images inlaid into the floor. The central piece depicting episodes of Elijah's life is particularly fascinating.
