I went out this morning into one of the most spectacular settings I have ever run in. We're staying in Urgup in Cappadocia (put two little dots over each 'u' if you want to spell the town correctly), where many of the homes are made of the local rock, if not carved directly out of it.
Running past the bustling market up to the quiet pre-dawn edge of town, up the road into the foothills, past the dwellings carved into the cliffs, up to the stunning vista point that looked over the 'fairy chimneys', eroded stone columns standing in the landscape, where hot air baloons already hovered in the distance--I wish I had a camera so you could see some of the beauty.
But then I wouldn't have been running, I'd have to have taken so many pictures . . .
