Alexander the Great came here. Julius Caesar came here. Paul of Tarsus came here.
And now, I too, have come to Troy.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words (which isn't even as many ships as were launched to invade here), but unfortunately for you, our internet access is limited so I can't upload photos for the moment.
And I'm not about to type a thousand words.
Suffice it to say, Troy was epic. Not to be mythed. Of legendary proportions. A site you wouldn't horse around with.
After having looked out over the Hellespont from the gates of Priam, we then proceeded to cross over by ferry to enter the European continent and press on to Constanti--excuse me, Istanbul.
All that was yesterday. Today concluded our coursework with a final morning of lectures and exams in the afternoon, of which I am grateful to be finished. We had excellent professors during the course of our journey--five all together--which made the preparation for the final well worth our while.
Now we have several days in the city to take in the history, and I'll be able to pass on those photos to you soon!

Much envy from here. All these places that I'm studying and you get to visit them!
If I'd known, I would have gone to the weekly swing dancing at the JCWC last night. Singing: "Istanbul not Constantinople...". Except not really. But I'm singing the song anyway!
Sounds amazing. outstanding.
